After Nick asked me how to use vent i decided to make a guide on it.
Click the arrow next to the "User Name" heading
Click "New" Then enter a username, push ok then ok again and you're at the original screen.
(You can add a Phonetic if you want, (its a sound vent plays when you log on) and a description too, but this guide won't cover that.)
Now, push the arrow next to the "Server" heading.
Push "new", And enter something like "HypnoticStory Vent Server" etc. Then Push "OK"
Here are the ONLY things you need to fill out(for our vent server)
Hostname or IP:
reptable.aa.am v09.darkstarllc.com
Port Number:
6218 4713
Password: stamps
Then push okay.
Now, the server should be on HypnoticStory Vent Server or whatever you called it on default. If it isn't click the empty box and select it. Now push connect.
Oh, as pewpew told me, or someone, You may want to change the settings. There is one you will be concerned with the most. This is how you talk.
My options are under Push To Talk, which is, As i'm setted up, I have to hold down the Control button to talk.
However, you can disable Push to Talk and the sensitivty box should be toggle-able. The higher the sensitivity the lower volume things need to be to be transmitted. Basically, sensitivty is so that you transmit what you say when vent picks up something at a certain volume. And sensitivity toggles the volume.
Congratulations. You setup vent.

Heres a guide(for Xp only) to connect your mic properly.
Mines in korean, Sue me. Don't know what the above picture is? it's Control panel. Click the icon that reminds you of sound. Should be called something like Sound, Audio etc. Then select Sound and Audio devices at the bottom.
Note: A guy in a wheelchair
Play around with tabs until you get bored(hehe i love doing that) and choose the Audio Tab. At the bottom there should be a box called something along the lines of Use Default Devices only etc. Check that. Then test vent. If it doesn't work, under Sound Recording, Choose your mic. If your mic doens't show up, it means it's not connected properly. And I can't help you with that unless you give me some stuff to work with.
Got questions/thanks? Post them here.
